HE WAS ACCOMPANIED BY MR. AHMED MOHAMED AL-SADA, UNDERSECRETARY FOR ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS AT THE MME, MR. AKRAM AL- IBRAHIM – CEO, MODERN RECYCLING FACTORY AND ALONG WITH OFFICIALS OF Premier Trading Company Ltd, THE PROJECT CONSULTANT AND NUMBER OF MINISTRY OFFICIALS
The minister conducted a field tour to the various facilities of the plant and was briefed on the work mechanism and recycling stages. He also observed the modern technology deployed in the factory, including the process of receiving old tyres, their classification, cutting, separation and transforming the refuse into rubber materials for various purposes.
He stressed the importance of the work being done at the factory, as it represents the participation of the private sector in the sustainable development process and noted that recycling old tyres is of great importance.
The minister said more factories for recycling and treating refuse materials will be set up in the country in order to benefit from them economically rather than just disposing of them in an improper manner. He also pointed out that Turkey is counted among the advanced countries in the area of recycling.
The MME logistically supports the factory and provides it with used tyres and discarded vehicles from the Umm Al Afai area and Rawdat Rashid and transports them to the factory for recycling.
The plant is the first of its kind in the country and uses advanced technology.
